The FurlongŪ L.O.L. H-A.C. HemiarthroplastyThe Furlong® L.O.L. H-A.C. is based on the time proven design of the Furlong® H-A.C. Total Hip Replacement. In clinical use since 1985, Furlong® H-A.C. continues to lead the world in Hydroxyapatite ceramic technology.
The neck/stem angle of the stainless steel Furlong® L.O.L. H-A.C. is reduced to 127 degrees to maximise the safety factor preventing dislocation from the normal acetabulum. The small 12/14 taper allows a greater range of movement and simple conversion to a T.H.R. at a later stage should this be necessary. The J.R.I. Bi-polar head is factory fitted to prevent intraprosthetic
dislocation. The inner head is designed to be situated above the centre
of gravity of the outer head thus creating a 'self centering' effect
to prevent the outer head assuming a varus position. Most of the articulation
is provided internally by the secure 22.25mm inner head. Solid physiological
sized heads in one millimetre increments are also available in stainless
