The Furlong® H-A.C. Supravit Zoned® Coated F.R.F. Cup
The new Supravit® Zoned coating is to replace the standard Supravit®
H-A.C coating on all FRF cups. This advanced coating technology is to
be applied to enhance the interference fit in the acetabulum. See the
News Update section for more information on this new coating.
The Furlong® H-A.C. FRF Cup is based on the original design of
the Furlong® H-A.C. Rim-Fix Cup.
Primary fixation, as before, is obtained by using up to six bone screws
situated at the brim of the cup to ensure maximum stability. Primary
fixation is thus ensured whilst the H-A.C. coating becomes integrated
with the surrounding bone.
The cup positioning device is fixed to the cup by means of a tapered
collar. This allows insertion of the peripheral screws while maintaining
the cup at the correct attitude.
The FRF cup has interchangeable U.H.M.W. polyethylene and ceramic liners,
making a "bearing change" at a later date a practical possibility.
For very dysplastic acetabular a 10° hooded U.H.M.W. polyethylene
insert is also available.
