The FurlongŪ H-A.C. Coated C.S.F. Cup
This cup is of fully modular design and is available in sizes from
44mm to 70mm diameter U.H.M.W. polyethylene inserts of 32, 28 and 22.25mm
I.D. are available in standard and 10º offset versions. A standard
28mm ceramic insert is also provided.
The CSF Cup has simple, effective instrumentation and the implantation
technique is suitable both for primary and revision surgery.
The Furlong® H-A.C. CSF Cup is designed to achieve an interference
fit into the acetabulum. This is facilitated by the brim of the cup
being slightly larger than the grated acetabulum. The depth of the cup
is identical to that of the grater thus preventing the cup standing
proud of the socket. In addition, the CSF Acetabular Cup utilises 6.5mm
cancellous bone screws to ensure optimum primary fixation. Screw holes
are placed close to the equator of the cup to maximise stability for
the first few weeks whilst the H-A.C. coating coalesces with the host
bone.
